Our interpretation services:
- Simultaneous interpretation
- Consecutive interpretation
Details about interpretation services:
Simultaneous interpretation is the interpretation made while the other person is speaking, translators are working in a cabin, with a headset and microphone. Simultaneous interpretation is suitable for conferences, congresses, business meetings with a large number of people. This type of interpretation requires interpreters with special experience in this type of services and special equipment (professional sound systems, cabins for interpreters, a platform for the presidium, headphones for interpreters and for the audience, speakers and the support of at least one sound engineer). FIDES Centre provides interpreters highly qualified in both standard andspecialized languages and it can provide all related equipment.
Consecutive interpretation is performed with the interpreter standing near the speaker, who is making short breaks during his/her speech, to allow the interpreter to translate the spoken text. Consecutive interpretation requires no special equipment. It is broadly used by politicians and officials in public or small meetings, in press releases, when escorting foreign delegations, and also during court hearings, statements made before a notary, etc. This type of interpretation requires special technique that involves the exercise of attention, memory and, in special cases, stenography. FIDES interpreters have all the necessary skills required, as well.
As part of the FIDES group, the Translation and Interpretation Centre can also provide through Fides Travel (link la organiare evenimente, Fidestravel) complete organizational services for cultural events: congresses, seminars, business meetings, press conferences, symposia, colloquia, promotional presentations, art and thematic exhibitions.
Calculating the fee for consecutive / simultaneous interpretation:
The fee is calculated / negotiated depending on:
- type of interpretation: consecutive / simultaneous
- the language into and from which the translation is being made
- interpretation duration

- specialization and degree of difficulty of that language
*For simultaneous translation on headphones there are at least 2 translators needed at the same time, plus equipment (cabin, microphones, headphones, sound system).
*In both types of interpretations it is advisable to make available to translators the program of the event and some additional materials to get them acquainted with the topic of the discussions.
*In order to receive a quotation, it is advisable to specify the languages required, the type of translation desired, date and structure of that event, timetable, location, topic and related field, number of participants and any other clarifying details .
